Daihatsu GranMax Now With a New Engine


Responding to the needs of business consumers in the country, PT Astra Daihatsu Motor (ADM) made a series of improvements to the Daihatsu GranMax model. The new GranMax launch procession was held at Senayan Park, Jakarta, Tuesday (30/8). As a commercial vehicle with the tagline Sahabat Bisnis, GranMax has successfully become a business partner for businesses in Indonesia, and has sold more than 700,000 units since its initial launch in 2007.

The focus of changes made to this commercial vehicle is focused on the 1500 cc engine sector which previously used the 1.5 3SZ-VE VVT-i, replaced by the new 1.5 2NR-VE Dual VVT-i engine which has better performance than the previous engine. This machine is claimed to be more responsive thanks to its power which is capable of reaching 97 hp at 6,000 rpm combined with a torque of 134 Nm at 4,400 rpm. Besides being more responsive than before, this machine is also able to provide high efficiency and is friendly to the environment.

For the outside appearance, Daihatsu has pinned 14-inch wheels that increase the ground clearance or distance from the ground by 15 mm so that driving remains safe and comfortable when passing through puddles and damaged roads. As a commercial vehicle, the GranMax is now also more practical and economical in terms of maintenance thanks to the use of EPS (Electronic Power Steering).

Touches on the inside include changes to the design of the steering wheel as well as additional cup holders and versatile dashboard storage for easy placement of goods.

This rear-wheel drive vehicle is also supported by a service network of 167 Daihatsu remi workshops spread throughout Indonesia so that customers can remain calm in the care of the GranMax. GranMax is available in various variants that can be chosen according to the needs of business people with prices ranging from Rp. 150,500,000 to Rp. 213,800,000.

Gran Max made by the ADM factory as the main solution for business people is increasingly proven for its quality and has been worldwide because it has been exported to Japan under the Toyota TownAce/LiteAce brand. Even this vehicle is also trusted by other Japanese brands by bearing the name Mazda Bongo.
