DURING the 2022 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) which took place on 11-21 August 2022, Chery as a brand that has just returned to the Indonesian automotive market, received a good response from visitors. During the 11 eleven days of the exhibition, the Chery booth was visited by around 29,664 people.
This exhibition, Chery presents the Tiggo series, which consists of the Tiggo 8 Pro and Tiggo 7 Pro, then the EQ1 electric car, and the Omoda 5 crossover SUV. Although it has not yet launched its product, Chery provides a pre-booking opportunity for the Tiggo series which has managed to record 844 orders of vehicle (SPK).
“We are very pleased with the enthusiasm of visitors to GIIAS 2022 for Chery products, especially the Tiggo series which we will soon launch in Indonesia this year. The number of 844 SPK units for the Tiggo 8 PRO and Tiggo 7 Pro for the past 11 days is proof that Indonesian automotive consumers have very good considerations in choosing an SUV that can meet their overall lifestyle, both function, technology, fashion, individually and as a family. With the Tiggo series, Chery is trying to take the Indonesian SUV class to a higher level,” said PT Chery Sales Indonesia (CSI) President Director Tao Yong, Tuesday (31/8).
In addition to introducing the Tiggo series, the GIIAS 2022 event is also used by CSI as the sole distributor of the Chery brand in Indonesia, to attract more input from Indonesian consumers. Market research is a principle for Chery in developing its innovations and this can be seen from the existence of seven research and development centers in several countries, namely China, Germany, the United States, and Brazil.
As a form of implementing its investment in Indonesia, Chery is also committed to establishing a research and development center in Indonesia, especially for right-hand drive products that will be produced in Indonesia and exported to several countries. Regarding after-sales service, Chery is currently building a network of dealers in 20 points in several major cities in Indonesia which will be ready for the launch of the Tiggo series, and will continue with the construction of a total of 30 dealers until the end of 2022.
Together with the nine dealer groups that have now entered into partnerships with Chery, the Chery dealer network will continue to be expanded to cover the islands of Java, Bali, Sumatra, Kalimantan and Sulawesi. The entire Chery dealer network will be ready to serve sales, periodic maintenance and spare parts.
