DPR Asks Banks to Be Encouraged to Strengthen Financing Access to MSMEs
Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives Commission XI Fauzi H. Amro assessed that banks need to pay attention to the potential for financing for national Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the midst of the challenges of the digital economy. Where online loan applications are increasingly used by the community.
According to Fauzi, in this technological era, MSME actors are also looking for speed in obtaining access to financing.
“People are too lazy to talk about conventional banks with their time-consuming administration. Not many business actors also want to go to the bank directly,” said Fauzi during a Special Working Visit of Commission XI to review MSME financing for Bank Indonesia (BI) partners and The Financial Services Authority (OJK) at the Kebon Kembang Market, Bogor, Friday (23/9).
Therefore, he hopes that banks can innovate to pursue these conditions. In addition, he encouraged banks to be closer to MSME players in traditional markets.
“By creating sub-branches or units in the market to help MSME players,” said the NasDem faction politician.
It is hoped that with easy access to financing and the effect on helping MSMEs, the positive impact will also be felt for the national economy.
As for this visit, Fauzi saw that the community was very enthusiastic about the ease of obtaining access to financing.
“We hope that this visit will be a stimulus for BI, OJK and banks. One of the proposals from the meeting with traders is the hope that an ATM machine will be provided at the Kebon Kembang Market. So that there is an economic ecosystem that can bring this market to be one of the barometers of the Indonesian economy,” he explained.
