Vice President: Local Government Must Support Economic Downstream Target
VICE President Ma'ruf Amin asked each region to concentrate on priority sectors that become advantages. This is important to encourage investment that creates new jobs in the region.
"Direct the sectors from each of these regions to support the economic downstream target," concluded Ma'ruf in Jakarta, Wednesday (12/10).
He also asked the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas and the Ministry of Investment/BKPM, as well as local governments, to make a map of investment potential which is considered important as a technical guide for information and promotion for investors.
“Make a comprehensive map of regional investment potential. This potential map is important as a technical guide, information and promotion for investors,” he added.
Ma'ruf also emphasized the importance of strengthening institutions and governance of the One Stop Service and Investment Agency (DPMPTSP), as the frontline and driving force for the ease of licensing in the regions.
“Strengthen the commitment to provide the best service for investment. I hope that the governors/regents/mayors will support the strengthening of institutions, human resources and governance of DPMPTSP,” said Ma'ruf.
He hopes that there will be an even distribution of investment in all levels of society as the key to achieving the prosperity of the Indonesian nation. "Investments must be enjoyed by all levels of society, all regions, and involve local workers," he continued.
On that occasion, Ma'ruf gave his appreciation to the Ministry of Investment / BKPM which is trying to achieve a balance of investment value in all regions in Indonesia.
"The Ministry of Investment / BKPM has struggled to achieve a balance of investment value between foreign and domestic investment, Java and Outside Java, collaboration of large businesses and MSMEs, as well as the involvement of local workers," he concluded.
