Kanjuruhan Tragedy, Iwan Bule Called TGIPF
The Joint Independent Fact-Finding Team (TGIPF) of the Kanjuruhan riots summoned the General Chairperson of PSSI, Mochamad Iriawan alias Iwan Bule for questioning. Iwan Bule has arrived at the office of the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs since Tuesday (11/10) afternoon.
He was accompanied by several other PSSI members. After several hours of questioning, Iwan left the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs unnoticed.
TGIPF chairman Mahfud MD said this week was the team's last time to collect information related to the Kanjuruhan riots. Apart from Iwan, there were several other parties being investigated.
"The teams being questioned today are LPSK, PSSI, PT Liga, Indosiar, and tonight will continue to request information from civil society," said Mahfud.
They were asked for information related to their respective roles in organizing Liga 1. The information obtained would be made into a report and submitted to the President.
"The team is now confirming several things that are considered as weaknesses or errors in the application of standard regulations that should be implemented in the implementation of matches," explained Mahfud.
Previously, riots broke out after Arema Malang's match against Persebaya Surabaya, Saturday (2/10). The match ended with a final score of 2-3 for Persebaya's victory and became Arema's first home defeat to the Surabaya club in the last 23 years.
