Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Tito Karnavian said there had been no input regarding the name of the acting (Pj) Governor of DKI Jakarta who would replace Anies Baswedan. The plan will be discussed in September.
“We’ll talk about that later, and then we’ll talk about September,” said Tito, after a work meeting with Commission II of the DPR at the Nusantara Building, Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Monday (29/8/2022).
The Ministry of Home Affairs explained that he will receive input from DPR regarding the name of the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta. The criteria are middle high leadership officials or echelon I in central agencies.
“This means that it must come from the state civil apparatus. The law says so,” said Tito.
The term of office of the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan, will end in October 2022. There are three names circulating as candidates for the acting governor to replace Anies.
Deputy Chairperson of the DKI DPRD, Zita Anjani, said that the figure of the acting replacement for Anies must understand Jakarta’s problems, even though it is under the authority of the government. According to him, if you look at the three names proposed by the government, all of them are good.
“Pak Heru Budi, good, once an executive of the capital city, of course he understands the psychology of Jakarta. Pak Marullah is good, our current secretary. Likewise with Pak Juri Ardiantoro, a lot of experience in leading,” he said.
