Herry IP's Goal is to Pair Pramudya Kusumawardana with a New Partner
Men’s doubles player Pramudya Kusumawardana will return to action on the field with his new partner, Rahmat Hidayat.
Pramudya played while waiting for the recovery of his old colleague, Jeremiah Erich Yoche Rambitan. Jeremiah is still recovering from a knee injury.
Rahmat Hidayat, who previously paired with Muhammad Rayhan Nur Fadillah, will duet with Pramudya in the Indonesia International Challenge 2022 and Indonesia Masters Super 100 in Malang, next October.
Meanwhile, Rayhan, who is still in the junior category, will focus on the 2022 World Junior Championships.
According to Indonesian men’s doubles coach Herry Iman Pierngadi, Rahmat is the right player to partner with Pramudya. Because, they have a match, both in terms of patterns and how to play.
“Our goal is to pair them so that Pram doesn’t stay away for too long so that the atmosphere, feeling and atmosphere of the match are not lost,” said Herry IP in an official statement from PP PBSI.
“As for Rahmat as an adaptation to playing in the adult group and adding game hours. He can also take a lot of knowledge and experience from Pram,” added Herry IP.
Pramudya has not appeared in any tournaments since the injury incident to Jeremiah in the quarter-finals of the Indonesia Open 2022 in June.
Jeremiah at that time had to leave the field in a wheelchair. He is expected to be sidelined for at least three to six months to undergo injury recovery therapy.
