Indonesia’s New Badminton Pair Wins 2 consecutive titles
The new Indonesian pair Rahmat Hidayat / Pramudya Kusumawardana made a sweet note. The host doubles won the second title in a row in Malang.
Today, Rahmat/Pram won the Indonesia Masters Super 100 2022. Previously, last week, Rahmat/Pram won the Indonesia International Challenge
Competing at the Platinum Arena, Malang, Sunday (23/10) Rahmat/Pramudya defeated the first seeds from China He Ji Ting/Zhou Hao Dong in straight games 21-18, 21-19.
Rahmat/Pram admitted that they were overwhelmed in dealing with He/Zhou. Moreover, He is the runner-up of the 2021 World Championship. So, the opponent played tactical and disciplined. This is what had made Rahmat / Pramudya difficult.
“In this match we were overwhelmed because the opponent had a stable game so it was difficult to break his concentration in playing,” said Pramudya in a PP PBSI press release.
“Our physical condition was shaky when pressed in the second game , knowing that we had two tournaments in a row here with quite cold weather conditions. We stay focused here and try to find point by point and finally we can win,” added Pramudya.
In line with Pramudya, Rahmat himself admitted that he was happy with the success of winning the title at the BWF Super 100 level. For him, this was a special title considering that both of them only made their debut last week.
Rahmat himself later after appearing with Pramudya Kusumawardana will be back in pairs with Muhammad Rayhan Nur Fadillah.
Just like Rahmat who returned with his partner, Pramudya will also be side by side with Yeremia Erich Yoche Yacob Rambitan. Possibly, Pram/Yere will return to play at the beginning of next year. Because, Yere is still undergoing the healing process due to a knee injury.
“We played carefree in this match. I was nervous considering the opponent’s level was higher, but we didn’t know how to give up during the match,” said Rahmat, a player born in Batam, 17 June 2003.
“Later I will return again with my old partner and will prepare for the next tournament,” added Rahmat.
