Huawei Develops 5.5G Network
Not long ago, it has been widely used in various countries, now technology companies and cellular operators have begun to develop 5.5G network technology. Huawei is one of the pioneers in the development of the 5.5G network.
Huawei's Rotating Chairman, Ken Hu, said that currently Huawei has collaborated with several world cellular operator companies to make 5.5G a success. There are at least four features that are the focus of the 5.5G network developed by his party.
The four features are 10 Gbps downlink speed, 1 Gbps uplink speed, support for 100 billion connections, and native intelligence . All of them are referred to as the next evolution of 5G technology.
"All industry players need to work together to determine a set of standards, prepare spectrum, and build this 5.5G ecosystem," said Hu at the 13th Huawei Global Mobile Broadband Forum (MBBF), which was held in a hybrid manner, Wednesday (26/10). .
Hu explained that 5G technology has grown very fast in various countries in the last three years. Many advantages have been obtained by the world community thanks to 5G technology which provides high-speed internet.
As of October 2022, more than 230 telecom operators worldwide have launched commercial 5G services. In total, more than 3 million 5G base stations have been installed to serve more than 700 million subscribers.
However, he believes 5G technology still has a lot of potential for further development in the near future. Tech companies, carriers and all others need to work together to fully unleash the potential of 5G networks and expand their impact in services such as cloud and systems integration. That way, there will be a leap in development in 5G networks, their applications, and the industry as a whole.
“We have seen very solid progress in terms of network deployment, consumer services and applications in the industry. 5G technology is currently moving in the fast lane and we all need to feel proud of the progress we have made. However, there are many other things we can do to maximize its value,” said Hu.
Hu also said the presence of 5G is in line with new opportunities that lead to changes in consumer behavior. This change brings benefits for many parties, especially technology companies and cellular operators.
Changes, for example, occurred from the shifting of the main revenue contributors to telecommunication operators. Previously, their main income was still limited in the customer service they provided. Currently, the main revenue shifts from data usage on various applications, especially subscription streaming service providers.
"If we work together, we will be able to drive a leap of development in 5G networks, their applications, and the industry as a whole," Hu said.
In Indonesia, Huawei is also collaborating with several government agencies to develop technology, particularly related to telecommunications. Among other things, the collaboration was carried out with the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN) and the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN).
In this collaboration, the main things that will be carried out are research and innovation in the fields of artificial intelligence, cloud computing, 5G technology, and Indonesia's digital ecosystem.
“By 2025, more than 85% of organizations will adopt a cloud -first strategy . That's why Huawei Cloud recently launched a local data center in Jakarta," said CEO of Huawei Cloud Indonesia, Jason Zhang.
SVP of Operation & Network Economics Orange Group Emmanuel Chautard said, amid the rapid development of telecommunications technology, technology companies also need to pay attention to environmental aspects. As is known, the current impact of global warming on the earth is getting bigger.
“Currently, many citizens of the world are increasingly demanding the presence of environmentally friendly technology. Therefore, we as a telecommunications technology company must also start paying attention to these changes,” said Chautard.
Chautard said that currently telecommunications technology has a big role in reducing the carbon footprint. This happens, among others, by facilitating communication through various long-distance communication technologies.
Even so, efforts to increase the contribution to reducing the impact of climate change must continue to be carried out together. One of them is designing a technology that is more energy efficient and has high strength so that it is more durable.
